Sensory Integration Therapy

Sensory Integration Therapy supports children in managing sensory input, enhancing motor skills, emotional control, and focus. Through personalized, play-based activities, it equips them to navigate daily routines with greater ease and confidence.

Sensory Integration Therapy

Sensory integration is an inherent part of how we make sense of the world around us. It refers to the process by which we gather and interpret information from our environment through our senses. Sensory integration is not limited to the traditional five senses (sight, smell, taste, touch, and hearing) but also includes how our body perceives movement and orientation in space.

Sensory integration comprises eight systems in total, but three systems—tactile, proprioceptive, and vestibular—are most commonly affected when individuals face sensory processing challenges.

Through sensory integration, we help children achieve optimal arousal—feeling alert, attentive, balanced, calm, confident, and self-regulated.

Helping Children Feel Balanced, Calm, and Confident.

At 7 Senses, we support children who face challenges with sensory processing—whether they are overwhelmed by lights, sounds, or touch, or seek constant movement. Through Sensory Integration Therapy, we help children become more alert, attentive, balanced, and self-regulated. Our play-based sessions in a sensory-rich environment are designed to improve body awareness, motor planning, and emotional regulation. We work with children who struggle with focus, coordination, transitions, or meltdowns in overwhelming settings. By targeting key sensory systems, we help children feel more confident, comfortable, and in control of their daily experiences.

Helping kids feel calm in their world

Sensory Integration Therapy is a specialised approach that helps children process and respond to sensory information from their environment more effectively. It focuses on how the brain organizes input from the senses—such as touch, sound, movement, and sight—and turns it into appropriate actions or behaviours.

Some children may feel overwhelmed by everyday sensations like bright lights, loud noises, or certain textures. This therapy uses fun, structured activities in a safe setting to gradually expose them to different sensory experiences in a way that feels manageable.

By improving how sensory input is received and organized, Sensory Integration Therapy helps children gain better control over their responses, allowing for more regulated emotions, improved attention, and greater comfort in daily routines.

For children struggling with sensory overload

Sensory Integration Therapy is ideal for children who have difficulty processing sensory input. These children may react strongly—or barely at all—to everyday sensations, making it harder for them to stay calm, focused, and engaged.

  This therapy helps children who:

  • Overreact or underreact to sensory stimuli (e.g., noises, textures)
  • Have trouble with balance and coordination
  • Avoid specific foods, clothing, or textures
  • Seek constant movement like spinning or jumping
  • Struggle with attention and concentration
  • Show delayed motor skills
  • Have meltdowns in busy or noisy settings
  • Find it hard to switch between tasks
  • Have poor body awareness
  • Show delays in speech or social interaction
