Sensory Integration Therapy in Ahmedabad

If your child is overly sensitive to sound, touch or movement, or seeks out constant physical stimulation, sensory integration therapy can help. At 7 Senses, our sensory integration program is led by Dr. Naziya Amravatiwala, certified by the University of Southern California (USC) in Sensory Integration, and is built around each child’s specific sensory profile.

What is Sensory Integration Therapy?

Sensory integration therapy helps children whose brains have difficulty processing information from their senses, sight, sound, touch, taste, smell, movement and balance. When sensory processing is disrupted, everyday activities like getting dressed, sitting still in class, or handling loud environments can become overwhelming. Therapy uses structured, play-based activities to help a child’s nervous system respond to sensory input in a more organized way.

Signs Your Child May Need Sensory Integration Therapy

  • Unusually sensitive to loud sounds, bright lights or certain textures.
  • Seeks out constant movement, spinning or crashing into things.
  • Struggles with balance or coordination.
  • Has difficulty with transitions or unfamiliar environments.
  • Avoids certain foods, clothing or textures without an obvious reason.
  • Has difficulty focusing or sitting still for age-appropriate periods.

What to Expect

  1. Initial assessment: a one-on-one sensory evaluation to understand your child’s specific sensory profile.
  2. Personalized plan: a therapy plan built around your child’s exact needs, not a generic program.
  3. Ongoing sessions: structured, play-based sessions in our sensory-equipped therapy space.
  4. Progress reviews: regular updates so you can see how your child is progressing.

Who This Is For

Sensory integration therapy at 7 Senses is designed for children of various ages, generally from toddlers through early teens, whose sensory processing challenges affect their daily life, learning or behavior. It is often recommended alongside occupational therapy or ABA therapy for children with autism spectrum disorder, though it also benefits children without a formal diagnosis who show sensory-related difficulties.

At what age can sensory integration therapy start?

Sensory integration therapy can begin as early as toddlerhood and continue through the early teen years, depending on the child’s needs.

No. While sensory integration therapy is commonly recommended for children with autism spectrum disorder or sensory processing disorder, a formal diagnosis is not required to begin an assessment.

This varies by child. Your therapist will discuss an estimated timeline after the initial assessment, based on your child’s specific goals.
